Autodesk Sketchbook Pro

WOAH!!!

It's been over 3 years since I last posted anything here...hey, what can i say? I'VE BEEN BUSY!!! hehehe...

But, now I'm not so busy, again.

So....I've decided to redo my website and manage this here blog.

Yes that means, there will be more work being posted up and hopefully a new website that you all can visit where you may ooh and ahh what work I've done this past 3 years.

Ok, maybe some of you have heard of that kinda new and most EFFIN' AWESOME of programs/app Autodest Sketchbook Pro.

Well, this here skull was my 2nd attempt at using the app, which I drew on my 4" screen of my Samsung Transform Ultra with a regular stylus. No joke. What do you think, cool huh? I LOVE THIS APP!!

...so much that I had to go out and get the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with it's 8" screen and with it's rocket-ship power and technology, and the S-pen. WAY BETTER than using a regular stylus!

At this point, all the art supplies (drawing, painting, et.) that I have accrued over the past years are now rendered obsolete....or unused till my tablet dies from over use. Even my desk top which has the Sketchbook program is collecting dust...that is, until I start working on my website. I don't use my desktop to illustrate much, because I still like leaning over the pieces that I'm working. Even though I have a tablet on my desktop and can use it proficiently, it's just not as preferable as a touch-screen tablet. The one thing I totally love about this app/program, is that I am able to use the painting technique of layering and lifting quite easily, a technique that I have been using when painting with acrylics.

So yeah, TOTALLY AWESOME.

Ok, enough ranting.

I just got done updating my regular web site with the work that I did this month.
I had a great time doing then and I hope to be able to do more.
Seriously, I can't think of a better way to scrape together a (although meager) living than to be doing art work for people.

To Skin or Not to Skin?

Ok, so I put together this design...and as always, I face the question of what to do with it next. I think it would be a cool tat, for me...maybe not. But I would love for any of my friends to wear it. And then, I'm thinking I should transfer it to a huge ass canvass and just go berserk, but there isn't anywhere at the house to do this.

Also, I've been working on other ideas similar to this, and I've been running across this question quite a bit.

To Skin or Not to Skin?

These painting are 2 pieces of a trypto...something that I did for my advanced painting class. You know, where 3 painting make up a whole painting. Yeah, that's what it is. Seriously, I had no idea what I was doing here.The teacher forbade me to paint my usual way and was about to force me to paint with spatulas. So I came up it a way to mix the paint on the boards white painting at the same time. The effects are kinda cool.

So where is the 3rd painting?

I never did it. Or finished one.

 The 3rd painting, or really the 2nd one was suppose to be a painting depicting living. But, when I attempted to paint something, I really couldn't finish it. Or at least rally come up with a solid image that show living.The other direction I tried taking was showing "Life after death." But again, I couldn't come up with an image. Seriously, what would I really know what that looked like.

INTRODUCTION

Variabilis:
is an accumulation of random art work.
With today's accessibility to various blog sites, I decided that it would be a great medium to display and share all the random designs, illustrations, paintings and ( a layman's attempt at...) photography, that I have done over the years.

Most of the work that will be displayed here are works of pleasure.
Some are class projects, but most are personal projects that stem from my love of various cultures (especially mine), reading, film, people, other's art works and stories told.
There is little if any, work that I do that makes a statement of any kind, nor attempts to enlighten anyone.
Rather, most of my work are ideas; representational images...displayed on paper, canvas or created digitally.
Or what some my call, "designs".

I will not be posting any work that I have done professionally on this particular blog.
